Dinner Party Performance Art Event

This is a series of photos from a recent performance art night held at OCADU Graduate Gallery.  The performance art event was called The Dinner Party where the artist had to respond to the notion of hospitality and incorporate food into their performance.  Artists involved where from the first year IAMD cohort Brette Gabel, Marjan Verstappen, Parastoo Anoshah Pour and myself Humboldt Magnussen.   My performance was based on my own folk tale about the Helmet People and the missing Chrysanthemumalo who is an underwatermelon farmer.  Through using an underwatermelon to take a pinhole photo of the audience I told a story of loss and longing and memory.  The performance was interactive where people with different colour helmets where asked to participate, cut the underwatermelon, tape up the doors to create a dark room inside the gallery, keep time.  In the end the photo was developed which is the archival document of the performance.
